An intermittent signal does not prove you need a new opener. Battery condition, range, obstructions and radio interference are different possibilities.
Start here
Try a fresh battery of the documented type for your remote and test from a safe, normal position. Check the maker's support material for antenna placement and compatible LED lighting. Frequency alone cannot tell you which replacement transmitter to buy.
If the problem continues
Read the complete model number on the opener and use the manufacturer link below for that equipment. If motion or entrapment protection is unreliable, stop testing and contact a professional rather than forcing the door closed.
Why range changes are hard to diagnose from a listing
A weak battery and local radio interference can both shorten operating range. The opener antenna and nearby electrical devices may also matter, but their diagnostic steps are model-specific. Record whether the problem affects one remote or all of them and whether it happens at the same location. That observation gives manufacturer support a useful starting point; a higher-frequency listing is not a reliable fix by itself.
